The L series is a ThinkPad without the expensive chassis. Keyboard, ports and upgrade options largely follow the T series, but the shell is simpler and the price is lower. When many machines have to go out at once, this is often where the maths works.

Worth knowing
- The shell is plastic rather than the magnesium used in the T series. It handles normal office use fine, but it is not built for the same wear.
- A little heavier than a T14 — noticeable if the machine goes in a bag every day.
